Kent Scott Taylor, 59, of Bloomingdale, Ohio, passed away Thursday January 19, 2012 in the Medical ICU at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

Kent was born September 14, 1952, in Steubenville, Ohio, son of the late Wm. Paul Taylor.

He is survived by his wife Cheryl Frazee Taylor; son, Zachary Paul Taylor and his fiancé Krista Ferry; mother, Lilliebelle Taylor; brothers, Van (Jackie) Taylor, Brian (Mary Dee) Taylor; his in-laws, Kenneth and Darlene Frazee; sisters-in-law, Marcy (James) Pannett and Paula (Burt) Phillips; and nieces, Amy, Lisa, Sara, Stephanie, Natalie, Emily, and Delaney.

He was a member of the East Springfield United Methodist Church of the Cross. Kent retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel/Severstal. He was a Stationary Steam Engineer and Utilities Foreman, and a member of the Toronto F&AM Masonic Lodge #583.

He enjoyed fishing with his friend and neighbor Frank, playing euchre with his card group, golfing with Zac, spending time with his loving wife, and watching The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a kind, loving, and caring person and in death donated his heart and lungs to research in hopes of finding a cure for the lung disease that took his life- Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.

Friends will be received on Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville and on Monday from 10 AM until time of funeral service at 11 AM with Pastor Tom Snodgrass officiating.

Burial will follow at Ft. Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville.

Masonic services will be held on Sunday at 7 PM.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Cross UMC, 7712 State Hwy 43, East Springfield, Ohio 43925 or Simmons Center for Interstitial Lung Disease 3459 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
