Marion Gertrude Frye, 85, formerly of Jewett, passed away September 14, 2012 at her daughter’s home in Annapolis.

She was born November 28, 1926 in Painesville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Ray William and Dorothy (Rex) Joiner.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband John Lee Frye who passed away January 31, 1998.

She received her R.N. nursing diploma at Wheeling General Hospital School of Nursing. She was a practicing nurse at the old Ohio Valley Hospital and later at the office of Metcalf, Holman, and Macedonia in Steubenville.

Marion was a member of the United Methodist Church of Jewett and of late worshipped at Abiding Love Fellowship Church of Germano, Ohio. She was a  member of Jewett Garden Club, United Methodist Women’s Society, and Ohio Valley Nurses Card Club. She was a volunteer for the Harrison County Cottage Industries. Marion was an excellent crafter and seamstress.

She is survived by her son, the Reverend Ray Edward (Janet) Frye of Eureka, Kansas; daughters, the Reverend Kathleen Louise (Reverend Andy) Anderson of Annapolis, Ohio and Sandra Lee (Ken) Beck of Cadiz, Ohio; brother, Leonard Joiner of Mesa, Arizona; sisters, LaDonna (Dominic) Cutri of Mingo Junction, Ohio and Marlene (Harry) Chambers of Austintown, Ohio; seven grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 W. Main St., St Rt 43 Richmond where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 PM with the Reverend Thomas Baker officiating.

Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Jewett.
