Robert W. Obermann, Sr., 73, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away September 24, 2012 at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville.

He was born April 16, 1939 in Steubenville, Ohio, a son of the late Chester C. and Dorothy M. (Rody) Obermann.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara A. Obermann, who passed away on February 4, 2009.

Robert served his country in the United States Navy.

He graduated from Mingo High School in 1957. Robert was an electrician for AEP and worked in the receiving department for the Federal Paper Board Company.  

He was a member of the American Side Band Club of America, Masonic Lodge, Tri County Ratchet Jaws, CB Club, Coachman Travel Trailer Club, and Night Owls. He was manager of the Richmond Little League “Tigers” for four years, captain of the Civil Defense Police of Jefferson County for eight years, and founder of the USS Cone Internet Club.

He is survived by his sons, James R. Obermann of Yorkville and John W. (Debbie) Obermann of McDonald, PA.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 5-8 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 W. Main St., Richmond where funeral services will be held Friday at 11 AM.

Burial will follow at Richmond Union Cemetery with military honors.
