Information

Name:
Mike Dubetz
Date of Death:
Nov 4, 2012
Location of Service:
Everhart-Bove Funeral Service, Inc., Richmond - Richmond

DUBETZ, MIKE, 90, of Amsterdam, Ohio, passed into the Lord’s grasp Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville.  He is in a better place, pain free due to the Lord.

He was born October 28, 1922 in Wolf Run, Ohio, a son of the late Afton and Sandra Merena Dubetz.  He is also preceded in death by his wife, Anna (Gubanez) whom he married February 15, 1947 and who died June 17, 2001; by two brothers, Wally and John and by 3 sisters, Anna Mizik, Helen Alex and Mary Gorskey.

Mike was first a coal miner for the old Warners Colliers Coal Company before his career as an electrician at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel where he retired in 1983.  He greatly enjoyed his duties that came with being a Springfield Township Trustee over the years.

Mike proudly served his country as a US Marine during WWII serving in the South Pacific until his honorable discharge in 1945 due to a war injury.

He will be greatly missed by all who loved him, especially his daughter, Carol Slates of North Canton, Ohio and son and daughter in law, Michael and Donna Dubetz of East Springfield, Ohio; but no one will miss him more than his two granddaughters, Jennifer and Krystyna Dubetz. He lived and breathed for them.

He went above and beyond the call of “Grandpa’s duties” toward the granddaughters.  There was nothing he wouldn’t do for them.

Mike was a member of the Russian Orthodox Church in Wold Run, the Disabled American Veterans and the Amsterdam VFW Post #232.

Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St, Richmond on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM where Parastas services will be held at 8 PM.

A Panahide Service will be observed at 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home in Richmond with Fr. Evgeni Peykov.

Burial with full military honors will follow in the Bergholz Cemetery.

Condolences may be sent online at everhart-bovefuneralhomes.com.
