Esqueline J. “Esty” Harris Griffith, 92, of Bergholz, Ohio passed away December 1, 2012 at Sienna Woods Nursing Home, Wintersville.

She was born in Lansing, Michigan on June 12, 1920, a daughter of the late Edward and Estella (Anderson) Harris.

Esty was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Bergholz for over 50 years where she served as an Elder and women missionary. Esty graduated from Bergholz High School in 1939. Esty then moved to Cleveland, Ohio and worked for General Electric. She then went to serve our country during WWII in the United States Army for two years.

She married Mordie Griffith on July 27, 1948. Esty and Mordie had a diary farm for 27 years, and she worked for the United States Post Office in Bergholz, Ohio and East Springfield for 35 years. She enjoyed her life with Mordie in Florida for over 13 winters. She enjoyed her lunch’s everyday with her friends at the Prime Time Center.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Mordie Griffith, November 7, 2005.

Over the past three years she had five dedicated, loving care givers, Dani Pieniazek, Becky Hinton, Jeannie Moore, Kim Devorick and Tammy Redovian.

Esty is survived by her son Gary (Linda) Griffith of Bergholz, Ohio; two daughters, Mary Jane Griffith of Florida, and Ruth Ann (Bob) Kirkman of Bergholz, Ohio; grandchildren, Megan (Todd) English, Michael (Valerie) Stine, Michele (Rob) Gribben, Ashley (Ryan) Forish, Jake Kirkman, and Marisa Carpenter; three great granddaughters, Jennie Mae, Cameron Rae, and Lauren Christine, and expecting two more great grandchildren in April and June of 2013; brother, Edward Ted (Ruth Ann) Harris of Minerva; three sisters, Mary Lou Coe of Wintersville, Jo Ann Modranski of Missouri, and Peggy (Art) Kincade of Mansfield.

She will be very sadly missed by her grand dogs, Gracie, Tebow, and Gordie; and great grand dogs, Albert, Charlie, Gunner, Molly, and Annie.

Friend will be received at the Bergholz Trinity Presbyterian Church, 2nd St., Bergholz on Saturday December 8, 2012 from 11 AM until time of the funeral service at 1 PM with Pastor Alan Jeffries officiating.

Burial will follow at Bergholz Cemetery with military honors.
