GERALD R. CORNISH,SR., 88,of Richmond,Ohio, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2012 in Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville.

He was born April 9, 1924 in Uniontown, PA,  a son of the late Lawrence Raymond and Mary Theresa Dunlevy Cornish.  He is the last of 5 boys having been preceded in death by brothers, Lawrence, Jimmy, Robert and Ken.  His wife, Georgetta (Koser) Cornish passed away in 2000.

He was the owner/operator of Cornish Heating and Cooling until his retirement.  In his earlier year, Jerry was active as a bowler, square dancer, golfer and enjoyed card clubs and various clubs and organizations.  He was Catholic by faith.

He is survived by 4 sons, Gerald “Jerry” Cornish, Jr. and Gloria Boley of Toronto, Terry and Luann Cornish of Adena, Doug and Carol Cornish of Richmond and Jeff Cornish of Wintersville; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville Thursday from 5 to 8 PM and again on Friday from 10 AM until time of Funeral Liturgy at the funeral home at 12 noon.  Burial will follow at Ft. Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville.
