Darlene Faye Phillips, 90, of Hopedale, OH, passed away March 26, 2018 at Gables Care Center, Hopedale, OH.
She was born July 14, 1927 in Grinnell, Iowa, a daughter of the late Herbert and Faye (Otto) Smith.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Phillips; son, Audra Lee Phillips; daughter, Bunnie Jo Barnhart; brothers, Herbert Smith, Jr., Gene Smith, William Smith, Dickie Lee Smith, and Jackie Clay Smith; and grandson, Shaun LeVasseur surviving is his daughter, Shauna.
Darlene is also preceded in death by her late in life partner, Richard Smith.
She was a member of the Bordeaux Baptist Church, Nashville, TN.
Darlene was a dedicated Christian and loved her God.
She and her husband, owned and operated Phillips Seafood Restaurant in Pensacola, FL. People would come from all over to enjoy a meal at Phillips Seafood.
Darlene was an Omsbudsman, which helped and worked with abused children.
She was an expert seamstress.
Darlene was kind, caring, loving, and a mother to all.
Darlene is survived by her daughters, Bonnie (Lyle) Beckjordan and Wally (Dean) Wells; son, Roland (Linda) Phillips; grandchildren, Chris (Alison) Phillips and their daughter, Kaci, Deanna (Chip) Jackson and their children, Deva, Olivia, and Elise, Bradlee (Kate) Miller and their children, Brennan and Charlie; and Bonnie (Codey) Bowman and their children, Tyler, Levi, Seth, Alex, Kane, and Kara; and great great grandchildren, Layla, Mia, and Elijah.
Private arrangements have been entrusted to the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, Wintersville.
