Harlan Osborne was born September 10, 1935 in Tannery, KY.
The youngest of 10 children raised by John and Laura Osborne. His siblings were Overton, Hobert, Arley, Leo, Charles, and Marvin Osborne, Mary Pitts, Vermont Novotny, and Martha Jane Roberts, who are all deceased.
He married Margaret (Rogers) Osborne in 1955, Jackie (Spencer) Osborne, and Louise (Roberts) Osborne.
He was a very proud father to Deborah (The late Jack) Ingram, Diana Osborne, Daniel (Dana) Osborne, David Osborne, and Bonita (Kenny) Whitson; step-father to Lynda and David Spencer and Tom (Melody) Roberts and Shirley (Ennio) Barchessi.
Nothing was more important or special to him than his many grandchildren and great grandchildren! Family meant everything!
He held many jobs in his lifetime. He worked as a pop truck driver, gas station attendant, painted houses inside and out, worked at a brickyard, and repaired mowers/tractors from his home. He retired Weirton Steel Corp. after 34 years. He also ran a white washing business with Chuck Cutshaver.
He was a little league baseball coach for 2 years, an active E.S.V.F.D. member. He worked with cub scout pack 25 and was a Weblow leader for Troop 25 Boy Scouts. He was a member of the 25 years club/Weirton Steel. He faithfully served at God’s Outreach Food Pantry. He was a board member of the Wintersville Community Chapel. In recent past years he had attended the Wintersville Church of the Nazarene prior to moving to Arizona.
He loved his God, Country, family, and his many friends. He was always ready to help anyone in need.
He enjoyed watching NASCAR (Jeff Gordon), W.W.F Wrestling, playing cards and horseshoes, bowling, listening to gospel music, and following his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren’s activities.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the B.S.A., God’s Outreach, Urban Mission or to either church listed above.
Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville on Tuesday from 2-6 PM.
Visitation Wednesday 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. at the Wintersville Church of the Nazarene.
