Henri O. Albert, 83, of Wintersville, OH died June 6, 2017 at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville.

He was born in Lodi, California on October 15, 1933 to the late Henri J.and Mollie E. (McConnell) Albert.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Betty and his wife of 42 years, Margaret E. (Peggy) Albert, the mother of his three sons.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. (Byers) Albert; his sons, Brian A. (Patricia) Albert of Steubenville, Brad A. (Amy) Albert of Pinehurst, NC, and Bruce A. Albert of Kentucky; two granddaughters, Megan Albert and Susan Albert of Pinehurst, NC; step-daughter, Patricia (Glenn) Barlow of Wintersville; step-son, James Kopras of New Philadelphia, OH; four step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Mildred (Robert) Schmidt of E. Stroudsburg, PA, Carole (Michael) Malone of Allentown, PA, and Arthurine (William) Rank of Andover, NJ; plus many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his faithful sheltie, Ginger.

Henri retired from Weirton Steel in 1994 as manager, administration in the strip steel dept. He accumulated 42 years at Weirton Steel. In 1995 he accepted the position of executive secretary of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry at the Steubenville Masonic Temple and retired from that position in 2008 (14 years). He also retired in 1981 as a Senior Chief Storekeeper (E8) from the US Naval Reserve after 23 years service.

He was very involved with the Masonic Fraternity as a member of Pilgrim Lodge #691, F. & A.M. in Steubenville, serving as Master in 1973, a 33° member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry in Steubenville, a former member of the York Rite Bodies in Steubenville, a member of Aladdin Shrine in Columbus, the Steubenville Shrine Club of Steubenville, serving as its President in 1977 and the Order of the Eastern Star, Labelle Chapter #414 in Steubenville. He also was the President of the Presbyterian Beneficial Union (A Fraternal Insurance Company) prior to its merger with the National Slovak Society in 1997. He is a member of the National Association of Fraternal Insurance Counselors and the Elks Lodge #1801 in Weirton, WV. He is Presbyterian by faith and graduated from Steubenville High School in 1951.

Friends will be received on Thursday 6-8 PM with Masonic Services at 8 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville where funeral services Friday at 11 AM with Pastor Jason Elliott officiating.

Burial will follow at Ft. Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville.
