Lewis Elliott Obituary

Lewis K. Elliott, 95, of Steubenville, OH, passed away February 18, 2018 at the Laurels of Steubenville.

He was born July 10, 1922 in Bergholz, OH, a son of the late Hugh LeRoy and Esther (Polen) Elliott.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Kermit Elliott.

Lewis served his country in the United States Army, he was Sgt. in combat in Germany during WWII in the US 1st Army Division in Germany 1st Infantry Division, he was called the Big Red One.

He was a member of the Bell Chapel United Methodist Church. Lewis enjoyed fishing.

Lewis was retired from National Steel of Weirton, WV where he worked for 36 years in the Fuel Department.

He is survived by his wife, Esther (Simpson) Elliott, who he married on September 17, 1949; son, Ted Lewis (Cassie) Elliott of Toronto, OH; granddaughter, Victoria Jean (Matthew) Leonard of Toronto, OH.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 W. Main St., Richmond where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Proya officiating.

Entombment will follow at Ft. Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville with full Military Honors.
