Raymond LaRue

Raymond R. LaRue 93 died Friday, April 20, 2018. Raymond was an avid outdoors-man who hunted and farmed at The Hidden Acres Farm. He served in the CCC and in the Army in the Philippines during WWII.

He was born October 31, 1924 in Blaine, Ohio and was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Maude LaRue, two sisters Esther Kosegie, Janet Bertram and his wife Jacqueline Vayda LaRue whom he married June 13, 1971.

He is survived by his three daughters, from his first marriage; Kathy Burkey of West Homestead, Pennsylvania, Carole (Ronald) Auch of Steubenville, Ohio and Dianne LaRue of Jacksonville, Florida. He is also survived by four grandchildren James Shumard and David Shumard of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Nadia Auch (Ravi) Gandh of Boulder Colorado and Natalie (Barry) Groman of Steubenville and 9 great-grandchildren.

Raymond worked as a mechanic, truck driver, maintenance man, and was a union carpenter. He also was owner of several businesses including Ray's Construction. Raymond had long lost count of the number of houses he built and resided in 4 of those homes.

The family would like to thank his special caregivers, Rhonda and Ken Dawson, Vickie Scott and Cindy Longwell. Their dedication, companionship, and care provided Raymond with a loving environment in his home for his final days where he was able to watch his animals and wildlife.

Funeral arrangements are provided by Everhart-Bove Funeral Homes. Visitation will be held Thursday April 26 at Bell Chapel UMC at 10:00 A.M. With Funeral Services at 11:00.

In lieu of flowers the family request remembrances be extended through Bell Chapel United Methodist Church or 4 Seasons Ministries.
