Virigina L. Conner

Virginia L. Conner, 73, of Steubenville, Ohio, passed away on April 2, 2024. 

She was born on October 22, 1950, in Steubenville, Ohio, to the late Leonard and Mary Donaldson. Virginia graduated from Steubenville High School in 1969 and continued her studies on and off throughout the years. She particularly enjoyed classes related to psychology and art.

During her life, she amassed many friends in Rockford, IL, Steubenville, OH, and Mingo Junction, OH. She enjoyed darts, pool, bingo, and bowling. She also enjoyed plants – particularly those which were fussy or difficult to grow. 

 In addition to her parents, Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Conner; her companion, Joseph Zawinski; sisters, Mazie Disbennett and Betty Giles; her brother, Patrick Donaldson; niece and nephew, Bette Jo Lamber and Christopher Holsteen; and her stepfather, Lawrence McClure. 

She is survived by her daughter, Stacy Strunk; her granddaughters, Rachel Jackie Strunk and Jessica Conner-Strunk; her sisters, Sally Donaldson, Blanch Hill, Kathy Broadcheck, Peggy Miro, and Pamela Ann Hill; her brother, Rodger Donaldson; 13 nieces and nephews and 26 great nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received for a committal service at the New Alexandria Cemetery on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 11 A.M.  A wake will follow at the American Legion, 210 Market St, in Brilliant, Ohio. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association, an organization Virginia felt strongly about.
