Charles “Charlie” Glen Hockenberry, 90 of Mars PA formerly of Mingo Jct.,Ohio went to be with the Lord on September 27, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford, PA. He was born November 6, 1926 in Smithfield, Ohio a son of the late Clyde and Kathryn Smith Hockenberry, he was baptized in the Christian church in Smithfield. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde and John Hockenberry; grandson, Gary J. Hockenberry; great-grandson, Jude William Taylor
Charlie was the owner/ operator of Hockenberry Heating and Cooling in Steubenville, a Veteran of the US Navy serving in WWII and was Methodist by faith. He was a member of the Steubenville Masonic Lodge #45 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Steubenville, Steubenville Shrine Club. His hobbies included a love for antique cars which he fixed and rebuilt.
Charlie is survived by three sons, Charles (Jean) Hockenberry of Galena, OH; Gary Hockenberry of Hartville, OH and Bryan Hockenberry of Ashtabula, OH; three daughters, Linda Ashton of Scottsdale, AZ, Vickie Taylor of Steubenville, OH and Krista Hockenberry of Mars, PA; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandson.
Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville on Friday from 10 AM until time of funeral services at 1 PM with Pastor Bill Westling officiating.
