Cynthia Sue Shepherd

Cynthia “Cindy” Sue Shepherd, 69, of East Springfield, OH, passed away September 3, 2019 at her home. 

She was born November 8, 1949 in Steubenville, OH, the daughter of Carl W. and Patricia J. (Mathes) Shepherd. 

Cindy graduated from Springfield High School where she loved being a majorette and member of the High School Band. She recently enjoyed attending luncheons with the girls of `68 group.  

She was a lifelong member of the East Springfield Christ United Methodist Church. 

After attending Ohio University, Cindy spent her career working in Human Resources until her retirement from Huntington Bank.  

Cindy was an avid golfer. She was a founding member of the Ladies Golf League at Spring Hills. A member of the Cadiz Country Club Ladies Golf Association. Cindy competed in area golf tournaments, Innerclub golf tournaments, and Country Club tournaments. 

Cindy’s other passion was her devotion to her many friends and family. There was hardly an event of Jessica or Steven’s that she missed.  

She is survived by her brother, Robert (Catherine) Shepherd of West Liberty, OH, formerly of Richmond, OH; niece, Dr. Jessica (Jason) Kile, nephew, Steven (Alyssa) Shepherd; great niece, Reagan Kile, Genevieve Shepherd, and Matilda Shepherd; great nephews, Avery Kile, Grant Kile, and Warren Shepherd; cousins, Georgi Weiser, Donna Eastham, Joni Linch, Sherri Shaffer, Terri Donato, and their families.  

Friends will be received on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at the East Springfield Christ United Methodist Church from 1:30 PM until time of the memorial service at 2 PM with Pastor Greg Bush officiating. 

Burial will follow at East Springfield Cemetery.
