Floyd “Butch” W. Blackburn, Jr., 78, of Steubenville, OH, passed away October 22, 2019 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.
He was born August 12, 1941 in Toronto, OH, a son of the late Floyd W. Blackburn, Sr. and Juanita (Shinn) Blackburn.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon “Lynn” Blackburn and brother, Brian Keith Blackburn.
Butch retired, after 39 years, from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel where he worked as a foreman in the BOF. He was a member of the 25-year club for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. Butch attended the BOF retirement party every year in April.
He was an avid Big Red Steubenville baseball, football, and softball fan. He has been the only fan to receive the game ball at a Big Red baseball game. Butch loved Ohio State football.
He is survived by his sons, Chris (Connie) Blackburn of Steubenville and Todd (Jennifer) Blackburn of Wintersville; seven grandchildren Lakyn, Stef-Mikel, Megan, Ashley, Morghan (Kane) Browning, Todd Cooper Blackburn and Nolan Blackburn; great granddaughter, Juniper Browning; sister-in-law, Saundra Lee Johnson; niece and nephews.
Friends will be received on Friday from 1-3 PM and 5-7 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 AM.
Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Steubenville.
