Mildred Morelli Obituary

It is with profound sadness that my brother Dave (Jan) Morelli, sister, Gina (Jim) Valuska & I, Deneen (Michael) Mueller, announce the death of our deeply loved mother. Mildred Harkins Morelli passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2019.  Although losing a mother is never easy, we are relieved that she is no longer suffering at the hands of pancreatic cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Morelli Jr.

Millie was born on Sept. 12, 1939, in Smithfield OH. She lived there until 1970 when our family moved to Wintersville. She was the friendly face that greeted you at American Dry Cleaners for many years. After devoting her time to raising her family, she poured herself into volunteer work with the Red Cross. Something of which she was immensely proud. She had amazing life long friends that were more family than friends. She was also the much loved Aunt Nook to too many nieces & nephews to count.

Our mom was the kind that had Jell-O parfaits waiting for you as an after school treat; the kind that would rub your back on sleepless nights; the kind that went without a new coat for 10 years so that we could have the latest fashion; the kind that put the love for her family above all else. She was the smell of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies & towels warm from the dryer personified.

To say that her grandchildren, Amanda, Howie, Sydney, Katie, Carrie & Libby; and great-granddaughter Hayden will miss her is a gross understatement.

At her request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, call someone important to you,  tell them how much you love them and then go donate blood. In honor of Millie.
