Paul Blackburn, 84, of Bluffton, SC, formerly of Richmond, OH, passed away May 13, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born September 27, 1932 in Richmond, OH, a son of the late Ralph and Ida (Delaney) Blackburn.


In addition to his parents, he is preceded by his brother, Ralph Junior Blackburn and his little dog, LeeLou.


Paul served his country in the United States Navy and he was also a proud Veteran of the Korean War.    Paul retired from Weirton Steel Corporation where he worked as a welder with 35 years of service. He also retired from the Richmond Water Department with 40 years of service. 


He was a member of the Richmond United Methodist Church and the Richmond American Legion Post 740 where he served as a past treasurer for many years. 
Paul is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gwen Blackburn; son, Mark (Cindy) Blackburn of Bluffton, SC; daughter, Penny (Greg) Wrkich of Bluffton, SC; brother, Robert (Sandy) of Richmond, OH; sisters, Ruth (Charles) Campbell of Steubenville, OH and Alice (John) Hyde of Kentucky; grandchildren, Stacy (Tim) Copeland, Alyssa (Brynly) Marsh, Joshua Blackburn, and Nichole (Travis) Yanok; great grandchildren, Abby and Carson Copeland, Peyton Marsh, Jacob, Laney, and Charlotte Yanok, and Sawyer Blackburn.


Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 W. Main St., Richmond on Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of funeral services at 1 p.m. with Pastor Carol Smith officiating.
Entombment will follow at Ft. Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville with full Military Honors.


In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Tidewater Hospice, 10 Buckingham Plantation Dr., Suite A, Bluffton, SC 29910.
