Alan L. Norris, 66, who resided at Gables Care Center , Hopedale , OH , formerly of Richmond , OH passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville .

He was born on November 8, 1947 in Weirton , WV , a son of the late Azel and Ruth (Sayre) Norris.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Thomas C. Norris; sister, Mary Ellen Miller; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Firm.

He was a member of the Cadiz Church of Christ.

Alan served his country in the United States Navy during Vietnam on the USS Arnold J. Isbell. He worked for Weirton Steel as a heavy equipment mechanic.

He is survived by his sister, Arline Firm of Campbell , Ohio ; nieces, and nephews.

Friends will be received on  Friday from 5-7 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 W. Main, Richmond where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM with Minister Robert Main officiating.

Burial will follow at Richmond Union Cemetery with full military honors including the bag piper.
