Obituary

ALEX W. FURBEE, 85, of Massillon, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011 in Hanover House of Massillon.

He was born February 13, 1925 in Stratton, Ohio, a son of the late Alexander and Elizabeth Dillon Furbee. He is also preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Hutchison Furbee in 1964, a step-daughter, Sue Ehmer, by 4 brothers, Bill, Arthur, Clarence and Clifford Furbee and a sister, Stella Macalvain.

He was a retired lead worker at Goodwill Industries, a member of the First Christian Church of Massillon and a big Cleveland Indians fan.

Alex is survived by his wife, Wilma L. Furbee, a son, Donald W. "Doc" (Joanne) Furbee of West Plains, MS, a brother, Walter (Josephine) Furbee of Bergholz, Ohio and sister, Wilda Staten of Carrollton, Ohio, a step daughter, Wanda Lamm of Massillon, 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.

Friends will be received at the First Christian Church, 1020 Wales Rd, NW in Massillon Friday from 5 until 7 PM and on Saturday from 11 AM until time of funeral services at 1 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 285 Second St., Bergholz with Pastor Dave Miller officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bergholz Cemetery.
