Alice L. Carter, 84, of East Springfield , Ohio , passed away April 30, 2012 at the Laurels of Steubenville.

She was born January 27, 1928 in Tiltonsville , Ohio , a daughter of the late Wilbur and Ethel ( Jackson ) DeVault.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband, Charles "Bob" Chastain, Sr., second husband, Andrew Slater, and third husband Henry Carter, Sr.; grandson, Donnie Robinson; brother, James DeVault; and sister, Dorothy Geissler and Mary Ramsey.

Alice was Methodist by faith and a member of East Springfield Senior Citizens.

Alice is survived by her son, Charles (Valerie) Chastain, Jr. of Richmond; two daughters both of Pismo Beach, CA, Kathryn (Ken) Lindsay and Mary Jean Jackson; brother, Dale (Esther) DeVault of Great Falls, MT; sister, Margie Jackson of Richmond; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 W. Main St. , Richmond where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 AM.

Burial will follow at East Springfield Cemetery .
