ALICE J. MILLER, 70, of Heath, Ohio , formerly of Richmond , passed away Thursday, in Newark , Ohio following a lengthy illness.

She was born March 23, 1940 in Steubenville , Ohio , the daughter of the late William and Ruth Steitz Beebout. She is also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Nikki Wright.

She was the clerk of Salem Township for 8 years and was voted the Jefferson County Clerk of the Year.  She was a member of the Richmond United Methodist Church and a former member of the Wintersville Junior Women's Club.

Alice , along with her husband, Dave, had been very active in the Richmond community.  She had been a member of the Richmond Volunteer Emergency Squad serving as and Emergency Medical Technician and a member of the Richmond Volunteer Fire Company. She also had been an active booster of the Jefferson Union and Edison Schools .

She is survived by her husband, David W. Miller whom she married February 4, 1960, by two sons, Micheal Miller and companion, Carla Vein of Steubenville and Mark Miller of Bradenton Beach, Florida, a daughter, Jodi Hinkle and husband Stephen of Thornville, Ohio, 4 grandsons, Josh Wright and Tiffani Deffenbaugh, Aaron Wright and Stevie and Shane Hinkle, 2 great-grandsons, Jayden and Kameron Wright, a brother, Robert Beebout and wife Marg, of Richmond and special friends, Debbie and Harry Thomas of Richmond.

Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St ., Richmond, Ohio, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday with Pastor Carol Smith officiating.

Burial will follow in the Richmond Union Cemetery .

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions for Alice may be made to the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home to be used at the discretion of the family.  They may be left at the funeral home and a  tabulation will be recorded.
