B. JOANN RAMSEY, 81, of Richmond, Ohio passed away peacefully in her
sleep Tuesday, May 21, 2013 in Trinity Medical Center, West,
Steubenville following a brief illness.
She was born August 10, 1931 in Mt. Pleasant, Ohio, the daughter of
the late John C. and M. Mabel Kithcart Krinke. She is also preceded
in death by her husband, John R. Ramsey, Sr., who passed away August
4, 2011 and by brothers, Jack and Joe and sister, Dorothy Shrieve.
She was a farmer who, with her late husband, John, operated an egg and
dairy farm. She spent the last 25 years as a baby sitter "NANA" to
many families. She was a founding member and pillar of what is now
the Lighthouse Presbyterian Church in Richmond where she was a Sunday
School and Bible School teacher. She was a member of the Jefferson
County Farm Bureau Women's Committee.
She is survived by her sons, John R. (Suzanne) Ramsey, Jr., of
Richmond, James R. (Pamela) Ramsey of Murfreesboro, TN, David "Jerry"
Ramsey of Wintersville and Jeffrey D. Ramsey of Columbus, a brother,
Robert (Gladys) Krinke of Mt. Pleasant, a sister, C. Kay Zimmerman of
Phoenix, AZ, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Lighthouse Presbyterian Church, Richmond on
Thursday from 2-4 and 5-7 PM where funeral services will be held at 7
PM with Pastor Anthony Bianchini.
A private burial in Ft. Steuben Burial Estates will take place on Friday.
