Barbara J. Polen, 91, of Amsterdam, Ohio, passed away on October 28, 2024. She was born on March 15, 1933, in Bergholz, Ohio, to the late Edwin and Laura (Maple) Slates. In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar D. Polen; her sister, Norma Prah; and her brothers, Gerald and Edwin Slates.

Barbara was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church where she was involved in the Women's Fellowship. She was also a member of the Jolly Mixers, and the Golden Sphinx Club.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 285 Second St, Bergholz, Ohio, on Monday, November 4, 2024, from 11 A.M. until time of services at 1 P.M. with Pastor Mark Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Bergholz Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Barbara's name to the Jefferson County Humane Society.
