Ben D. Pruitt, 66 of Steubenville, Ohio passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Allegheny Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. Ben was a career Veteran of the US Navy, where he worked as a navigator until his retirement in 1983. He also worked as a dispatcher for Jacobsen Pilot Service until 2003. Ben was born July 12, 1943 in Columbia, South Carolina, a son of the late Clarence and Eleanor Burton Pruitt. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Buba and Bob Pruitt, two sisters June and Beverly. Ben is survived by his loving wife Mary Jane (Denson) Pruitt; two sons, Benjamin D. (Nikki) Pruitt of Bergholz, OH and Beauregard "Bo" (Terra) Pruitt of Weirton, WV; three daughters, Connie (Brad) Homen and Marie Pruitt both of Fresno, CA, Cindy Pruitt of Tustin, CA; three brothers, Lot, Don, Larry Pruitt of South Carolina; a sister Leilani Blackwell of South Carolina; six grandchildren, David, Rebecca. Kevin, Alexis, Drake, and Isabella; two great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Allison.
