Bernice O. McClain, 92, of Canton , Ohio passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011 at St. Luke Lutheran Home in North Canton .

She was born May 12, 1919 in Dodridge Co., WV, the daughter of the late William Allison and Cora Anna Rebecca Queen McClain. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Chester B. McClain Sr.; daughter, Judith May McClain; and brothers and sisters, Brainerd, Stewert, Ira, Londo, Ward, Aubrey, Harvy, Omar, Mabell Hamilton, Gladas Tucker, Emma, and Maggie McClain.

Bernice was Methodist by faith and a member of Richmond United Methodist church.

She is survived by sons, Chester (Joyce) McClain of Canton and William "Bill" McClain of Wintersville; daughter, Ethel Ann (Charles) Kortz of Sunbury, OH; grandchildren, Kimberly (David) Hunt, Kelly (Matthew) Gower, Michaelene (David) Sims, Shawn (Tiffany) Kortz, Kelley (Connor) Donaldson, Devon McClain, Caitlin (Xavier) Meeks, Shane McClain; great grandchildren, Phillip and Anthony Hunt, Dalton and Dylan Sims, Nicolous and Samatha Gower, Nora, Anya, and Xander Donaldson, and Dawson Meeks.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 W. Main St. , Richmond on Monday from 11 AM until the time of funeral services at 1 PM with Pastor Carol Smith officiating.

Burial will follow at Ft. Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville. Memorial contributions can be made to Senior Independence, 1815 W. Market St. Akron , Ohio 44313 and Richmond United Methodist Church , S. Sugar St. , Richmond , OH 43944 .
