Betty Sanders, 74, of Wintersville, Ohio, passed away June 24, 2023, at Weirton Medical Center surrounded by family and friends. She was born February 5, 1949, in Steubenville, Ohio. A daughter of the late Frank and Martha (Russell) Staymate. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Russell "Moose" Sanders; brothers, John Kenneth, Frank, and Arthur Staymate; sisters, Mary Rupert and Hannah Griffith.

Betty was a member of Bell Chapel Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star Unionport Chapter #360. She was an Advisory Board Member of the Steubenville Assembly IORG, "International Order of the Rainbow for Girls."

Betty is survived by her daughter, Melissa (Bryan) Cooley; grandchildren, H. Russ and Courtney Cooley; her sister, Martha Hatcher; sister-in-laws, Sandy Staymate and Joanne Jones; brother-in-laws, Fred Griffith and Robert (Becky) Sanders; Many neices and nephews by blood and by love.

Friends will be recieved at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville, Ohio, on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Steubenville.  Eastern Star services will be held at 7 P.M. on Wednesday evening.
