William A. "Bill" Higgins, Sr., 83, of Wintersville, OH, passed away January 1, 2015 at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville.

He was born October 5, 1931 in Richmond, OH, a son of the late George Leroy and Pearl (Purviance) Higgins.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his twin daughters, Jo Ann and Joy Ann Higgins; brother, Harold Higgins; and sisters, Bonna Jean Higgins and Nancy Ruthum.

Bill served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of Labelle View Church of Christ where he was in the choir, worked as a treasurer, and helped with Sunday School. Bill was a member of the Tri State Harmonizers. For 50 years he prepared taxes for many people.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Jean (Myers) Higgins; sons, James Higgins, Ronald (Sharon) Higgins, and William A. "Bill", Jr. (Tina) Higgins; brother, Earl Higgins; grandchildren, Joshua, Andrew, Nicholas, and Zachary Higgins; sisters-in-law, Audrey Myers and Ardeth Higgins; and friend of the family, H. Lee Kinney.

Friends will be received on Sunday from 1-3 PM and 6-8 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville and again on Monday from 10 AM until time of funeral services at 11:00 AM with Pastor Tom Arehart officiating.

Burial will follow at Ft. Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville with full Military Honors.
