CHARLENE O. STRANEY, 76, of Bloomingdale, OH, passed away Monday, September 10, 2007 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was an active member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church and of the Catholic Women's Club. She also was a volunteer at Valley Hospice. Her family came first in her life and she was the devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was born October, 12, 1930, a daughter of the late Charles A. and Almeda P. (Murphy) Mercer. She is also preceded in death by a daughter, Lynn Erin Straney in 1984 and two brothers, Robert and Richard Mercer. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence V. Straney whom she married November 25, 1954; by two sons, Lawrence Joseph "L.J." Straney of Bloomingdale and Robert Christopher Straney and wife Donna of Wintersville; by two daughters, Patty Sue Cooper and husband Paul of Columbus and Mary Michele Booth of Bloomingdale; by a sister, Dorothy Twiggs and husband James of Bradenton, FL; 8 grandchildren, Kim (Sam) Moore, Jessica Cooper, Aaron Straney, Meghan Booth, Anne (Rob) Fithen, John L. Booth, Jennifer Booth, Jamie (James) McCune, and 6 great-grandchildren, Shannon and Conlan McCune, Skylee, Jada Samantha Moore and Caydan Craig. Friends may call at the Everhart_Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM with a vigil service at 8:45PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by The Reverend Father John McCoy 11:30 AM Friday at St. John Fisher Catholic Church, Richmond with burial following in the Richmond Union Cemetery.
