Charles William Edwards, 92, of Wintersville, Ohio, died Saturday, June 11.

Mr. Edwards practiced law as an attorney in Jefferson County, Ohio and was a member for 65 years of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Jefferson County Bar Association. He was a former Bresident of the Union Savings Bank of Steubenville and of First Financial Group of Washington, Pennsylvania.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Norma Jean McCarley Edwards; a son, Charles Thomas Edwards; a daughter, Deborah Lynn Edwards; and two grandchildren, Caitlin and

Charles Edwards. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Thomas Edwards and Margaret Wakefield Edwards; two brothers, Clifford and Thomas Edwards; and two sisters, Margaret Edwards Sellars and Alice Edwards Patrick.

He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War Il, and in the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General Corps during the Korean War.

He was a graduate of Amsterdam High School and a finalist in the 1937 National Spelling Bee. He was also a graduate of Ohio University, Athens, and Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland.

He was a 33rd degree Mason, Steubenville Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite; a long-time supporter of the Jefferson County Airpark; and active in many other community organizations.
