Charles Henry Gervason, 85, of Bergholz passed away unexpectedly on Sunday May 13 at his home.

He was born November 1, 1926 , in Bergholz a son of the late Charles Henry, Sr. and Madaline Gervason.

Charles was a devoted husband to his wife Syliva of 61 years whom preceded him in death in 2008. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Lillian O'Brien.

He attended the Bergholz United Methodist Church .

Charles was a life long resident of Bergholz where he served as fire chief and worked for the water department for over 25 years. He retired from Timet in Toronto in 1989 and remained active in the community.

He is survived by his son, Ronald (Paulette) Gervason of Arroyo Seco, NM; daughter, Amber (Richard) Hemming of Carrollton, OH; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Friend will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 285 Second St ., Bergholz where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 AM with the Reverend Steve Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Bergholz cemetery
