Obituary

CHARLES W. HUSCROFT, 77, of Richmond, OH, passed away Monday, November 28, 2005 in his home following a lengthy illness. He was a carpenter and 50 year member the Steubenville Carpenters' Union Local # 186, was a member of the Knight's of Columbus Council #472, the Richmond American Legion Post # 740, the Jefferson County Historical Society and a member of the Academy of Lifelong Learning. Charles was a founding member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Wintersville and served his country in the US Air Force. He was born May 16, 1928 in Richmond, a son of the late Charles H. and Marie Owen Huscroft. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Frank O. Huscroft. He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Phillipson) Huscroft whom he married May 28, 1952; by two daughters, Cynthia (Captain Jay) Roberson, East Lake, NC and Valerie (Dave) Scharfeld, Aurora, OH, grandson PFC Thomas C. Moses, US Marine Corps, granddaughter, Angela Moses of Cadiz, many nieces and nephews and dear friends and family. Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated by Msgr. Gerald Calovini at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Wintersville on Wednesday at 1:30 PM. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville. Military honors will be conducted by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
