Daniel W. Loyer, 89, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away on April 30, 2022.

Daniel was born on September 10, 1932 to Wayne and Margaret (Westmyer) Loyer. He worked in the armature shop of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel for 41 years and many years part time at the Prime Time Office on Aging as a custodian.

Dan was a member of the former St. Stanidlaus Church where he was involved in the Mens Club. He was currently a member of Triumph of the Cross where he served as altar boy, lector and took communion to the sick.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 50 years, MaryAnn Loyer, siblings Callista Antol, Henry Loyer, and Frank Loyer.

Surviving are his three daughters, Margaret Kreiter, Catherine (Rick) Watson, MaryBeth (Ron) Burkosky; his brother, Harold Loyer; his brother-in-law, James Miller; grandchildren, Evelyn (Mike) Robbins, Daniel Kreiter, Erin Kreiter, Frank (Dolly) Loyer, Michelle (John) Stamper, and Jennifer (Jon) Bastianelli;  5 great grandchildren;  2 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville, Ohio on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 4-8 P.M. A vigil will begin at 7:45 P.M.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Triumph of the Cross, Steubenville, Ohio, followed by a burial at Mount Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
