David Alan Grimes, 51, of Amsterdam , OH passed away Wednesday June 19, 2013 at UPMC, Pittsburgh following a sudden illness and is now resting in the arms of Jesus.

He was born January 15, 1962 in Steubenville , OH , a son of the late Bernard and Norma Jean (Bohmer) Grimes.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Donald Grimes and nephew, Jarrod Grimes.

He was an active member at the East Springfield United Methodist Church of the Cross where he attended the men's bible and prayer study and taught Sunday school and youth group. Dave was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins follower. He loved watching NASCAR and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Dave enjoyed cooking, woodcrafts, and being on facebook.

Dave is survived by his brothers, John Grimes of Amsterdam, Ronald (Pat) Grimes of East Springfield, and Joey (Carol) Grimes of Amsterdam; sister-in-law, Terri Grimes of East Springfield; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews whom he loved like his own.

Friends will be received on Friday from 3-9 PM at Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 W. Main St. , Richmond where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Tom Snodgrass officiating.

Burial will follow at East Springfield Cemetery .
