David A. "Butch" Hackathorn, 77, of Bergholz , OH passed away August 19, 2014 at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville .
He was born March 20, 1937 in Bergholz , OH , a son of the late Clarence "Shorty" and Sylvia (Jolly) Hackathorn.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his grandson, Donald George Casey III; step-son, Donald George Casey II; and siblings, Michael (Ruth) Hackathorn, Sylvia (Charles) Gervason, Ben (Edna) Hackathorn, Betty (Harold) Kemmer, Catherine (Michael) Becher, James Hackathorn, Jean Hackathorn, and Florence Hackathorn.
Butch served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Amsterdam Moose, Bowling League, and Golf League.
Butch is survived by his wife, Sue (Furbee) Hackathorn of Bergholz; daughters, Becky Casey of Bergholz and Mary Hackathorn of Steubenville; step-daughters, Anna Casey and her companion Greg Call of East Springfield and Diana (Mark) Shank of Amsterdam; siblings, Donald Lee (Rose) Hackathorn of Bryant, TX, Joan (Tom) Isherwood of Amsterdam, OH, Leslie "Pete" (Margaret) Hackathorn of Houston, TX, and Dennie (Jennie Lee) Hackathorn of Amsterdam; mother-in-law, Louise Furbee of Bergholz; sister-in-law, Joan Hackathorn of Rainier, OH; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 285 Second St ., Bergholz, where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM.
