David Howard Monigold Jr., 62, of Steubenville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on July 2, 2026, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

David was born January 3, 1964, in Steubenville, Ohio, to David Monigold Sr. and JoAnne (Sarno) Monigold. A lifelong resident of Steubenville, he graduated from Jefferson Union High School with the Class of 1982. He spent more than 20 years working at JL Service with his good friend Joe Littleton, where he was known for his strong work ethic and friendly attitude.

David enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether he was fishing, camping, or heading to the firing range with his son. He was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and loved playing and spending time with his beloved dog, Ginger.

Those who knew David will remember his fun-loving sense of humor and famously stubborn attitude. Above all else, he loved his family deeply and treasured every moment he spent with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his mother, JoAnne (Sarno) Monigold; his longtime partner, Robin Montgomery along with her daughter and grandchildren; his three beloved children, Amber Monigold, David (Kelly) Monigold, and Angelique Monigold; his three grandchildren, Aiden Carte, Kellen Carte, and Weston Adams; his brother, Daniel (Nancy) Monigold; and his niece, Mia (John) Fairclough.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Monigold Sr.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to Valley Hospice for the exceptional care, compassion, and comfort they provided David throughout his illness.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd, Wintersville, Ohio, on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 10 A.M. until time of services at 1 P.M. with Pastor Bill Westling officiating. Burial will follow at Center Chapel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in David’s memory to the American Cancer Fund.
