David Frederick Ramsey, 64, of Richmond, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on October 18, 2026. He was born on July 13, 1962, in Steubenville, Ohio, to the late John F. and Mary E. (Devault) Ramsey. In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his sisters, Deborah Ann and Barbara Jean; and his sister-in-laws, Lois Ramsey, Sue Stroud, and Candy Annibaldi.
David was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Church and a devoted presence in his community. For many years, he coached soccer, softball, and t-ball, mentoring and encouraging countless children. Known by many as the community handyman, David was always ready to lend a hand. His community was like family, and he lived for his grandchildren.
His favorite things included Ohio State football and watching the Minnesota Vikings. However, nothing brought him greater joy than watching his grandchildren grow.
David had many passions throughout his life. His love for soccer started with 1 field at the SKYSL field behind Big Bear. As president, he expanded the program into multiple fields and provided children of all ages an opportunity to play soccer. One of his greatest accomplishments was not only starting the Edison High School soccer team, but building it into a successful program. In addition, he also volunteered his time at the Jefferson County Fair, working with 4-H clubs and the Sales Committee. He was also a member of the Jefferson County Health Board. He was especially proud of being named Trustee of the year.
Dave was very well known for his work ethic, and he carried this over at his previous employers. He spent many years working as a heavy equipment operator at Weirton Steel. He also worked for Edison Heating and First Energy. Dave has faithfully served in his current position as Ross Township Trustee for 20+ years.
David is survived by his loving wife, Stephanie (Stroud) Ramsey; his children, Kris (Amanda) Ramsey, Kaleena (Ryan) Stackhouse, Bryan (Elissa) Ramsey, Alicia (Chase) Jolly, and Bryan (Elissa) Ramsey; his siblings, Jim (Peggy) Ramsey and Amy (Robert) Scott; his grandchildren, Cole and Natalie Ramsey, Kason and Adalyn Stackhouse, Jaiden, Miley, and Clair Jolly, Justin and Phoenyx Ramsey; and his many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received for visitation at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd, Wintersville, Ohio, on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, from 4-7 P.M. An additional visitation hour will be held the following day, Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at the Richmond Methodist Church, 112 Sugar St, Richmond, Ohio, from 11 A.M. until time of service at 12 P.M. with Pastor Mark Thomas officiating. Entombment will follow at Fort Steuben Burial Estates.
