Dean B. Moretta Sr., 70 passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was the son of the late Bernard (Keg) Moretta and Vivian (Palmer) Moretta of Bergholz, OH.

Dean was a graduate of Springfield High School and a Vietnam-era veteran of the United States Navy. He worked as a coal miner, business owner of Dino's Shell in Bergholz, auto mechanic, and machinist at Colfor where he retired in 2014. Dean was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and enjoyed building model cars.

In addition to his father Dean was preceded in death by this wife Kathy (Lonergan) whom he married in 1969, son Dean Jr., and an infant daughter Kara. He is survived by his mother, son Tony (Jennifer) of Clovis, NM, and four grandchildren; DeWayne, Ashton, Zaine, and Tesa.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 285 Second St., Bergholz on Saturday from 1 PM until time of the memorial service at 3 PM with Pastor Mark Thomas officiating.
