ONA CHAMPION, 78, of Irondale, OH, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2007 in TMCW, Steubenville, following a brief illness. She was a homemaker, a Presbyterian and attended the New Somerset Christian Church. She graduated from Bergholz High School in 1946.
She was born in Bergholz, September 23, 1928, a daughter of the late William James and Elizabeth Ann Griffiths Rowe. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Vincent, Edmond, Evan Keith and William Rowe Jr as well as an infant brother; by sisters, Catherine Joyce Hendrix and step-sister, Lucille Plemmons Turvey.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Clarence Delbert Champion; by sons, John (Patricia) Gersna of Manlius, NY and Scott (Glenda) Champion of Hammondsville; by her daughter, Cathy (Bob) Rawson of Toronto; 2 step-sisters, Betty (Plemmons) Rowe, Bergholz and Sandy (Plemmons) Dunn of Idaho and by 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 285 Second St. Bergholz Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM where funeral services will be held at 12 PM Noon Tuesday with the Reverend John Byard officiating.
