Donna McConnell Hill completed her earthly service to her Lord on October 3, 2009, at the age of sixty-two. For twenty-five years, she was employed as a teacher by the Edison Local School District, retiring from John Gregg Elementary in the spring of 2009. Donna's greatest joy came from sharing the message of salvation through Jesus Christ and serving as a vessel of his compassion and love. She was an active member of the Wintersville Church of the Nazarene, heavily invested in children's ministry and lifelong supporter and cottage owner at Hollow Rock Holiness Camp, continuing the legacy of faith passed on from her mother. With humility and conviction, she prayed and cared for her family and community, including her husband of forty years, her four children, their spouses, and four grandchildren. Donna was preceded in death by father James Ernest McConnell, mother Frances Seitter McConnell, and brother David James McConnell, all of Richmond. She is survived by her husband Robert Scott Hill of Richmond, daughters Shannon (Paul) Marchese of Colorado Springs, Dr. Camela (Dr. Bryan) Schmitz of Economy, Indiana, Summer (Wes) Graham of Browning, Montana, and son Trent Hill of Columbus. A brother Kenneth (Linda) McConnell of Richmond, a sister Joyce (the late Richard) McConnell Guilliam of Louisville, Ohio. She is also survived by four beloved grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be held for Donna at 6 PM on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at the Wintersville Church of the Nazarene, 377 Longvue Dr, Wintersville with Reverend William May officiating.
