Obituary

Dorothy (Marker) Blackburn 82, of Bloomingdale, Ohio died peacefully at her home on Monday morning March 21, 2011.

She was born January 10, 1929 in Steubenville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Frank and Ida Madrid Marker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Terry Lee, whom passed on March 10, 1964, one brother, Frank Marker, two sisters, Mary Louise Haun and Betty Springs.

Dorothy married in 1946 and began working outside the home in 1965. She was employed first at American Dry Cleaners in Steubenville and then at One Hour Martinizing in Wintersville. She began working at Sears and Roebuck in 1974 and retired from there in 1991.

She was a longtime member of Finley United Methodist Church and the Win Some Sunday School Class, although she had been unable to attend in recent years due to Alzheimer's Disease.

Dorothy is survived by her best friend and husband of 63 years, Jacob LeMoyne Blackburn; four sons, Roy and wife Connie of Brilliant, OH, Frank and wife Connie, David and wife Adele, and Jeffrey Blackburn all of Bloomingdale; a daughter Linda Heine and husband Joseph of Oakland, MD; ten grandchildren, Lori Hart, Jason Blackburn, Denise Rawson, Jeremy Blackburn, Joseph Heine, Tracey (Heine) Sinclair, Heidi and Amanda Blackburn, Trisha and Pegene Blackburn; ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville on Thursday from 2-4 and6-8 PM. Funeral services Friday 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fort Steuben Burial Estates. Send condolences online at www.everhart-bovefuneralhomes.com .
