Herbert Douglas Barnette, 77 of Wintersville, Ohio passed away June 11, 2022 at the Country Club Manor, Steubenville. He was born November 4, 1944 in Birch River, WV, a son of the late Vaughn and Dorothy (Perkin) Barnette. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Barnette.

Doug was a Veteran of the US Air Force serving in Vietnam. He was a member of Crossroads Christian Church and the Vietnam Veterans Support Group.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Swiger) Barnette; son, Richard (Bricey) Barnette; daughter, Charlene (Summer) Barnette; sister, Charlotte Ann (Stan) Masoner; grandchildren, Ciera, Douglas, and Sayla Barnette; step-children, Eugene Moffet, Steve (Cindy) Moffet, Robin Moffet, Monica Klenczar, Patrick (Tracy) Pizzoferrato, Melody McClurg; 9 step grandchildren; 6 step great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd, Wintersville on Wednesday from 5-7 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 AM with Pastor Jeff Greco officiating. Burial will follow at Union cemetery, Steubenville with military honors.
