Doyle W. "Dusty" Mills, 95, of Geneva, Nebraska, passed away Sept. 30, 2013.
Dusty was born April 25, 1918 in Annapolis, OH, a son of the late Warner and Inez (Dye) Mills.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanne (Wilson) Mills and brothers Almer Eugene and Walter Mills.
Dusty was signed as a pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals farm system and played from 1936-1940.
He is a retired officer (serving 20 years) of the US Army and served overseas during WWII. He was a recruiter during the Vietnam War. He got his PHD in Education and was a Superintendant of schools in Alaska and Nebraska.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, F&AM #1 in Skagway, Alaska.
Dusty was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the sports with his brothers and nephews.
He is survived by his wife Aleene Mills of Geneva, Nebraska and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and 1 great-great niece.
Friends will be received on Monday from 10 AM until time of funeral services at 11 AM at the Annapolis Presbyterian Church with Pastor George Coffman officiating.
Burial will follow at Unionport Cemetery.
