EARL J. 'Spark' BOYD, JR., 71, of Richmond, OH, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2009 in Trinity Medical Center West Emergency Room, Steubenville after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was born in Steubenville, OH, February 6, 1938. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl J. Boyd, Sr. and Ruth (Teaff) Boyd and two sons, James L. Boyd and Michael Boyd. He worked in the car repair department of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel prior to his retirement and was affiliated with the Church of Christ in Steubenville. He was a veteran of the US Army. He is survived by his wife, Sue (Brown) Boyd; a son, David (Carrie) Boyd of Charlotte, NC and a daughter, Carol (Doug) Cornish; by 4 grandchildren, Bryan Cornish, Kevin (Tamara) Cornish, Drew and Chloe Boyd and a great-granddaughter, Isabella Cornish. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home in Richmond with burial in Richmond Union Cemetery.
