Edgar Earl Lucas, Sr., 84, of Richmond, Ohio passed away peacefully on August 31, 2024 at his home surrounded by family. He was a beloved father, grandfather, husband, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was known to family and friends as "Big Ed" and "B", Gramps to his grandkids.

Ed was born February 25, 1940 in Steubenville, Ohio a son of the late Wilbur "Bill" and Alice (Walter) Lucas.

He was employed by Weirton Steel and worked on the "track gang". He enjoyed camping at Lake Lila and Twin Valley Campgrounds for many years. He loved cookouts, playing cards, and being the host of the party. He lived for auctions, yard sales, and flea markets. He was a regular at Friday night football games and lived to cheer on the Buckeyes on Saturday. Most of all, he loved to spoil his grandkids.

Ed was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Frances (Nurczyk) Lucas; his parents; brother, Robert "Bobby" Lucas; and sisters, Donna Higgins and Barabara Gorman. He is survived by his daughter, Karen (Joe) McNamara of Columbia, TN; sons, Edgar (Paula) Lucas Jr. and Daniel Lucas both of Richmond; five grandchildren, Zachary Retzer, Nathan Lucas, Natalie Lucas, Noah Lucas, and Mason Lucas; sister, Sandra Snyder of Columbus; brother, Wilbur "Billy" (Patty) Lucas of North Carolina; brother-in-law, Edward "Edju" Nurczyk, John "Jackie" Nurczyk and sister-in-law, Vicky Nurczyk.

The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude and thanks for his many personal care givers and the nurses at Valley Hospice for their kindness, compassion, and loving care through this time.

Friends will be received for visitation at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville on Wednesday from 3-7 PM. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 AM with Pastor Jason Elliott officiating. Entombment will follow at Fort Steuben Burial Estates.
