EDNA MC ABIER FANKHAUSER, 81, of Bergholz, Oh, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2014 at the home of her daughter, Bev McAbier in Carrollton , Ohio .

She was born January 19, 1933 in Carrollton , OH , a daughter of the late John and Matte Latica Becker Howell.  She was married to the late Harold Fankhauser for 26 years.  She is also preceded in death by her brother, Leroy, her sister, Shirley Burns and her grandson, Adam McAbier.

Edna was a waitress at Tu's Restaurant before retirement, a Christian by faith, a member of the Bergholz Women's Club and was involved in the old Bergholz PTA.  She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Lester (Cindy) Howell, Bergholz, Ronald ( Charlotte ) McAbier, Carrollton and Paul (K) McAbier, Gnadenhutten , OH , daughters, Beverly A. McAbier, Carrollton and Barbara (John) Albaugh, Goldsboro, NC, brother John ( Marge) Howell, Jr., Carrollton, sisters, Ruth Wrikeman, Amsterdam and Carolyn Howell, sister in law, Jean Howell, Lakeville; 12 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.  .

Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 285 Second St ., Bergholz on Wednesday, October 29 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday with Pastor Lance Powers officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bergholz Cemerery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystorphy Assn. 222 S. Riverside Plaza, Ste. 1500 , Chicago , IL 60606
