Edward L. Channels, age 92, went to be with the Lord on March 6 at his son and daughter-in-law Dual and Janice Channels home in East Springfield , OH surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Reedy, WV, February 13, 1919 , the son of the late Plas and Alma Kersey Channels. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. He is survived by a sister, Freda Straka of Steubenville , his loving wife Virginia Mallernee Channels whom he married February 22, 1941 . A daughter Edwinna (Dick) Burch, of Richmond, OH; a son Dual (Janice) Channels of East Springfield OH; five grandchildren Dianne Paice and Janet Mayle of Richmond, Sharon (Bob) Krusey of Mercer, PA, Christopher (Jennifer) Channels of Zanesville, and Betsy (Bill) Hopkins of Springfield Township OH; 13 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.

Ed was a WWII Veteran, and attended the East Springfield United Methodist Church of the Cross. He retired from Belot's in 1981, but his greatest pleasure was auctioneering.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond on Tuesday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM and on Wednesday from 10 AM until the time of Funeral Services at 11 AM. Burial will follow at East Springfield Cemetery with Military Honors.
