EDWARD V. "Hook" EGY, 76, of Unionport, OH, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2007 at TMCW, Steubenville following a brief illness. He was a retired dragline operator at R&F Coal Co. and was a member of the Christian Church of Unionport. He was a longtime Blue Grass musician in the area. He was born July 23, 1930 in St. Clairsville, OH, a son of the late Edwin L. and Mary (Moore) Egy. He is also preceded in death by a step-great-grandson, Isaac and 3 sisters, Francis, Jean and Mildred. He is survived by his wife, Alice E. (Kettlewell) Egy whom he married July 23, 1950, by a son, Allen Egy and wife Pam of Unionport and a daughter, Alice Lee Steinbrink and husband, Dave of Geneva, OH; by grandchildren, Dusty & Doug Steinbrink; step-grandchildren, Rick Mellott and Shawnna Cronin and step great-grandchildren, Holle`, Aubri, Laney and Kayla. Services for Hook will be at the Christian Church of Unionport at 1 PM on Saturday, March 3, 2007 with the Reverend Hubert Granger leading the service.
