Edward F. Gill, 88 of Wintersville , Ohio passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at the Carriage Inn in Steubenville .

Ed was born May 15, 1922 in Steubenville , Ohio , a son of the late Edward and Jessie Gill. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanore Busby Gill; a son, Robert Gill; a sister, Virginia Rensi; a brother, Joseph Gill.

Ed was a Veteran of the US Army serving in the South Pacific. He was retired from Freshwater Homes where he worked as an excavator and heavy equipment operator. Ed was a member of the Starkdale Presbyterian Church and a past member of the Steubenville Sky Hawks Flying Club.

Ed is survived by his sister-in-law, Cecilia Gill of Canfield, OH; several nieces and nephews; companion, Carole Coffman of Wintersville, and her children Gary, David, Diane and their families who all dearly loved him.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd. , Wintersville on Saturday from 10 AM until time of services at 1 PM with Reverend Dr. Phillip Makari officiating.
