Elizabeth A. Barkley, 52, of Weirton, WV, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 6, 2015 at Weirton Medical Center following a lengthy battle with brain cancer.

She was born August 14, 1963 in Anderson, Indiana, a daughter of the late Rev. Robert Allen and Rev. Edith Elizabeth (Criswell) Barkley.

Elizabeth attended many churches over her lifetime including: Amsterdam Church of God, Christian Church of New Cumberland, WV, Weirton and Wellsburg Nazarene Churches.

She had a beautiful singing voice and was a member A Ladies Trio called "Blessed". Music was her life. Elizabeth enjoyed arts and crafts. She loved her children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews.

Elizabeth was a graduate of Springfield High School, Bergholz, OH in 1982. She attended Gulf-Coast Bible College, with a major in Early Childhood Development. She taught in an after school program for Sarasota City Schools for several years under her mother as her manager. She was a dietary aide and prep cook for Brightwood Nursing Home in Follansbee, WV for 23 years. Elizabeth had many friends and loved ones who will miss her beautiful spirit and outstanding voice. She prayed constantly for family and friends as she was dying.

Elizabeth is survived by her children, Marlena (Dustin) Barton of Weirton, WV and Jared Shingleton of Follansbee, WV; grandchildren, Levi, Jr., Elena, and Dominic; brothers, Robert T. (Linda) Barkley of Spout Spring, VA and James (Diane) Barkley of Orrville, OH; sisters, Cindy (Terry) Chamberlain of New Cumberland, WV and Susan Brady of Sarasota, Florida; nieces and nephews, Autumn, Adam, Jeremy, Jason, Joshua, and Nicholas; several aunts and uncles.

Friends and family will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville on Wednesday from 12-2 PM and from 5 PM until time of funeral services at 7:00 PM with Pastor Rick Tinsky officiating from New Cumberland Christian Church.
