ELSIE M. PITTMAN, 77, of Richmond, OH, passed away Friday, December 22, 2006 in her home of natural causes. She was a self-employed care-giver and a member and deacon of the Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church and the Bible Study group. Prior to that she served as Sunday School Superintendent for 20 years at the West Park United Methodist Church. She was a charter member and former president of the Wintersville American Legion Auxilliary, a member of the Wintersville Homemakers and an alumni of the Jefferson County Homemakers. She belonged to the Wintersville Friendship Club and was an avid cow "stuff" collector. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing. Elsie was born July 8, 1929 in Fernwood, Ohio, a daughter of the late Felix Strupe and Elizabeth (Solters) Strupe Hammer. She was also preceded in death by two husbands, Linwood Zook in 1953 and James C. Pittman in 1983, by a son, James Pittman in 2003, a son-in-law Jeff Huber in 2003, a great grandson, Ezekiel Stiles and a brother, Marion Strupe. She is survived by four daughters, Janet Lemasters, Toronto, Faye (Dave) Jones, Wintersville, Donna Virtue-Huber, Richmond, and Marcella "Marcie" Eiler of Richmond and her companion, Jack Waggoner of Warren, Elsie's companion, Joe Pratko, Wintersville, three sisters, Helen Lemaster of Florida and Patty Tickerhoof of Pennsylvania, Wilma Parrish, Wintersville, a brother, Leroy Strupe of Smithfield, 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 PM Saturday and from 11 AM until time of Services at 2 PM Sunday at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond. Burial will be in Fort Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville Tuesday at 11 AM. The Reverends Brent Holliday and Delbert Lash will officiate.
